Cyr Conference / Montana
June 27 - 29, 2008

The group will spend a day on the whitewater of the Clark River in the Alberton Gorge. Hidden deep within this canyon are class II, III & IV rapids where students will be presented with swiftwater and wilderness medicine scenarios. The Montana River Guides facility in Cyr just west of Missoula is the location for the lecture portion of the course. This AWLS course is being offered by Aerie Backcountry Medicine in Missoula and is a great opportunity to gain a foundation of knowledge in wilderness medicine and swiftwater rescue. Join us in this spectacular setting for an AWLS conference "to learn the skills to prevent problems, reduce suffering and save lives in non-traditional medical settings." Obtain up to 17.5 hours of CME
and Fellowship credits from the Wilderness Medical Society.*

Based in Missoula, Montana, Aerie trains over 1,500 students a year throughout the United States, Mexico and Central America. Aerie is the primary provider of wilderness medicine training for the Student Conservation Association; train extensively with the US Forest Service Smokejumpers, state and federal land agencies, youth-at-risk programs and private indifiduals. They regularly present at regional, national and international conferences and have been certified in AWLS and as AWLS instructors.
