AWLS Faculty
Is comprised of medical professionals with extensive experience in wilderness medicine. Their professional affiliations include the University of Utah School of Medicine; Stanford University, Division of Emergency Medicine; the US Army; search and rescue teams; National Ski Patrol and the Wilderness Medical Society. Many of our faculty have taught AWLS certification courses since the inception of the program and have practiced wilderness medicine as both an avocation and occupation.
The combined skills and experience of this group have created the accepted protocols for treatment of injuries and illnesses in wilderness environments, which were used in creating the AWLS curriculum.
